Miley Cyrus and other celebs were excited to see the big Pacquiao vs. Bradley match this weekend, but just like many boxing fans, they weren’t very happy with the results.
Just about everyone seems to think that heavily-favored Manny Pacquiao should have taken home the belt after his bout with Timothy Bradley, but he had to give up his WBO welterweight title to the undefeated American after a split decision.
The controversial result of the match did not please newly-engaged Miley. She’s probably been on cloud nine since Liam Hemsworth popped the question, but Manny’s loss definitely seemed to get her out of her celebratory state of mind.
And of course Miley took to Twitter to complain about Manny Pacquiao getting robbed. The singer vented by writing:
umm wtf?!? were the judges not watching the same fight i was??? wowwww. i keep thinking they are gonna say “gotchya!” #sickjoke.
Of course, Timothy Bradley’s win didn’t turn out to be a sick joke, so Miley Cyrus continued her Twitter rant:
this just proves that everything boils down to politics. ugh. why cant people just fight fair?! let the WINNERS win!
She then offered Manny Pacquiao a little encouragement by writing:
Yo manny! you just gotta remember what my daddy @billyraycyrus always told me ‘when you knock em out, you dont need no judge!’
That’s some rather violent advice there, Billy Ray.
It might seem a little surprising that Miley Cyrus would support someone like Manny—she’s a strong supporter of gay marriage while he has made it clear that he isn’t. However, that just shows you how big of a shocker that Timothy Bradley’s win was; even though Miley might not agree with his views, she felt the need to stand up for the fighter.
Manny’s loss revealed that there are quite a few celebrities who like watching guys beat the crap out of one another, because tons of other stars took to Twitter to complain about the fight. According to Gossip Cop, Khloe Kardashian must have bet on Manny, because she asked if she could get her money back. Kim Kardashian also tweeted about the bout, saying that the fight seemed fixed. Paris Hilton, Justin Timberlake, and Jessica Biel were a few more of the many celebs that tweeted their disappointment with the split decision.
Justin Bieber was one of the celebs who didn’t tweet about the match, but he seems to be more of a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fan (which is unfortunate for Manny—he obviously digs the Biebs since he sports the singer’s old haircut).
But at least Manny knows that he’s going to have a lot of support if there’s a rematch.
